As a Connecticut wedding photographer, every celebration I capture tells a unique story, but Eliza and Danny’s wedding was exceptional. Their timeless garden wedding at Smith Farm Gardens truly took my breath away. The soft, romantic setting felt like a dream brought to life. Every corner of the garden was filled with beauty and elegance. The stunning New England backdrop perfectly complemented the incredible details they thoughtfully chose. This wedding was featured on Wedding Chicks recently, and I can’t wait to share it with you on the blog today!

A Romantic Garden-Inspired Wedding Day
First, let me gush a little more. Eliza and Danny married at the picturesque Smith Farm Gardens, a stunning New England venue that perfectly matched their vision. The soft color palette of whites, creams, sage, and pale yellow added an elegant touch that’s going to be living rent-free in my mind for the rest of my life. Deeper tones of green, taupe, peach, and ivory enriched the design, creating a warm, romantic atmosphere as guests arrived. Capturing their day was an absolute joy with such attention to detail.
The intimate, classic vibe of the wedding carried through every moment. Abundant blooms, seemingly gathered fresh from the garden, enhanced the timeless beauty of the celebration. Gentle light filtered through the trees, casting a soft, ethereal glow. The pastel tones of the day’s details heightened the dreamy, romantic setting. Every element came together to create a truly unforgettable occasion.
Here are just a few of the incredible details.
A Love Story to Remember
Not only were the details of the wedding incredible, Eliza and Danny’s love story was also full of adventure and romance. Their engagement in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, held a special meaning in both of their hearts. On a beach during one of their first trips, Danny proposed in the most thoughtful way. He planned a romantic picnic with music and classic “Marry Me” letters.
That same thoughtfulness carried through every detail of their wedding day. Each element reflected their journey together. From the carefully chosen flowers to the personalized decor, their love story shone. The venue and intimate setting mirrored their deep connection. Their wedding felt like a continuation of the beautiful adventure they began together. Every moment was a tribute to their unique bond and shared experiences.
Bridal Glamour and Garden Wedding Style
For all the Bridgerton fans out there, Eliza’s bridal look and the wedding’s overall aesthetic captured the essence of a Regency-era romance. Her dress showcased timeless details, perfectly complementing the lush garden setting. Later in the evening, she changed into a fun, floral party dress, giving the celebration a fresh, modern twist. I loved photographing both looks, as they beautifully highlighted her sense of style and personality.
The bridal party embraced the garden’s elegance, wearing soft hues that seamlessly matched the day’s color palette. Their dresses enhanced the natural surroundings, adding a sense of harmony to the scene. Photographing the bridal party in the open garden felt like a highlight of the day. The soft, golden light streaming through the trees and the pastel tones created a magical atmosphere in their photographs. Every detail, from Eliza’s gowns to the serene garden, added to the enchanting feel of the day.
A Day Filled with Personal Touches
Lastly, one of the most special parts of Eliza and Danny’s wedding was the personal touches they wove throughout the day. I know I’ve teased that throughout the post, but let me give you some examples. During their heartfelt ceremony, Danny’s brother played the guitar as Eliza walked down the aisle. There were fun lawn games during cocktail hour, which felt very light and fun and reflected Eliza and Danny’s wishes that every moment on their wedding day be filled with intention and love. Guests enjoyed signature drinks, including a refreshing lemonade-based cocktail named after their beloved dog, Tucker, adding a personal and playful touch.
As the night came to a close, Eliza and Danny made their grand exit in a car that carried special meaning for Eliza’s family. Her grandfather had cherished his deep green Jaguar XJS, and when he passed it along to Eliza’s father, it became a treasured family heirloom. Driving through a tunnel of sparklers in that beloved car made for such a magical and sentimental end to a perfect day. It was a moment I was honored to capture, full of joy, love, and family tradition.
Capturing Timeless Love Stories
For me, being a wedding photographer is about so much more than just capturing beautiful images—it’s about preserving the deep emotion, connection, and love that couples like Eliza and Danny share. Their wedding wasn’t just a celebration, but a true reflection of their personalities and the life they are creating together. And let me just say, they were a JOY. Every moment, from the smallest detail to the most significant, was infused with their unique story. I felt incredibly honored to be there, documenting not just the day but the love and commitment they have for each other.
