As a seasoned professional Connecticut wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of documenting countless love stories in New England, the United States, and beyond. With each new wedding, I am reminded of the beauty of love, the magic of commitment, and the power light, bright, and timeless photography has in preserving these once in a lifetime moments. In this blog post, I am thrilled to share with you the recent wedding of Eliza and Danny that took place at the one-of-a-kind Smith Farm Gardens, a venue that truly stands out and offers plenty of options for customization and personalization.

Bridal and Groom Preparations and First Look

Eliza and Danny decided to prepare for their wedding day on property which was perfect as Smith Farm Gardens has plenty of options for getting ready spaces. Eliza prepared upstairs with her sister, mother, sister-in-law and mother-in law in the formal bridal space. Her space featured a cozy neutral palette with a beautiful couch, hanging portraits, and lots of natural light. Danny prepared in a large bedroom and joined Jennifer Nichole & Co Photography in the formal living room for his portraits. The living room is incredibly spaces and features a gorgeous fireplace, built-in bookshelves and surround floor to ceiling windows that let in the most stunning natural light. Once ready, the went right outside for their first look.

Husband & Wife, Bridal Party, and Family Portraits

Immediately following Eliza and Danny’s first look we rolled straight into their husband and wife portraits. Smoothly moving straight into portrait time allowed us to photograph Eliza and Danny in a very relaxed way without rushing or pulling them out of their reception. After spending time together we welcomed their bridal party and family to join in the sunken garden for portraits. My favorite part about utilizing this space at Smith Farm Gardens is the view of the farmhouse in the background. A special addition to this day was the brides grandfathers antique Jaguar which you can see in their family portraits as well.

Ceremony

The ceremony site Danny and Eliza selected might be my favorite option for wedding ceremonies on property. Off the formal living room is a beautiful porch with stunning white columns which makes for the most perfect approachable elegant backdrop for your “I Do’s”. A major plus? Florists can dream up the most beautiful creation to enhance the beauty of the columns! There is also plenty of room for cross-back wooden chairs, aisle florals, and the surrounding trees bring a more intimate feel to the space (and serve as a great frame for photographs)!

Reception and Send-Off

Danny and Eliza’s reception took place under Smith Farm Gardens stunning sail cloth tent. The incredibly talented Wilson Stevens Productions played the best music all night long and kept everyone dancing! Some of my favorite parts of Eliza and Danny’s reception included the beautiful table numbers, the floral seating chart, Eliza’s end of night gown change and their sparkler exit featuring friends and family smiling so wide as they hoped into the jag and took off!
