Nestled in the Connecticut countryside, Smith Farm Gardens has long been one of my favorite venues to photograph—and Emily and Patrick’s June wedding is a perfect example of why. With its historic charm, open-air gardens, and timeless estate backdrop, it set the stage for a celebration filled with heartfelt moments and modern elegance.
As the photographer behind Jennifer Nichole & Co., I specialize in capturing heirloom imagery for couples who love intentional design and personal storytelling. From the very first details to their joyful cake cutting, Emily and Patrick’s wedding reflected all the things that make a Smith Farm Gardens wedding so magical.
Elegant Wedding Details at Smith Farm Gardens

The day began with quiet anticipation. Emily prepared in a softly lit bridal suite at The Boardman House, surrounded by delicate florals, timeless accessories, and her closest loved ones. She chose a garden-forward palette for her invitation suite and accessories: soft whites, hints of greenery, and a pop of mint blue.
Emily’s flatlays echoed classic, structured tones—elegant and fresh. Light poured through the window, illuminating her gown where it hung gracefully. Nearby, her white pointed-toe heels and lush bouquet offered a glimpse into the refined simplicity woven throughout the day.

Nearby, Patrick and his groomsmen got ready in crisp black and white details. They dressed in classic tuxedos, added final touches like cologne and cufflinks, and shared a few laughs over hand-rolled cigars. Every moment felt relaxed yet intentional.
Garden Bridal Portraits at The Boardman House

Emily’s bridal portraits told a visual love story rooted in springtime romance. We photographed her in front of The Boardman Houses iconic stone wall, where greenery and soft white blooms created the perfect frame.
She wore a strapless gown with subtle texture, giving her a sleek, modern look. Her veil floated softly in the breeze while she held a sculptural bouquet of seasonal florals. The resulting portraits reflected light, grace, and confidence in every frame.
A Ceremony to Remember in the Smith Farm Gardens Sunken Garden

The sunken garden at Smith Farm Gardens set the scene for their heartfelt ceremony. Guests gathered beneath mature trees and under soft cloud cover while Continuo Music played romantic violin arrangements.
Patrick had not seen Emily beforehand, so his reaction as she walked down the aisle was unforgettable. She linked arms with her father, who beamed with pride. Father Aleksander John Gorecki led the ceremony, weaving in handwritten vows and tender moments. As they exchanged rings and walked out to a flurry of flower petals, their joy radiated through the entire garden.
Smith Farm Gardens Wedding Party in Chic Black and White

Emily and Patrick’s wedding party made a statement against the garden’s natural beauty. Bridesmaids wore black gowns in varying silhouettes, each style carefully chosen to suit their personalities. The groomsmen coordinated in classic black tuxedos.
We captured group portraits in front of the historic estate home. The white columns and soft green backdrop created a refined, editorial setting. The entire party brought a mix of elegance and energy that made every image sing.
Reception Highlights from this Smith Farm Gardens Wedding

The reception unfolded beneath a graceful sailcloth tent, set in the heart of the gardens. Guests found their seats at long tables adorned with soft linens and lush floral centerpieces designed by Smith Farm Gardens. With the addition of elegant place settings and warm candlelight, the atmosphere felt both inviting and polished.
One of the most heartfelt moments occurred during the father-daughter dance. Emily’s dad composed and produced a custom song with her mother—writing the lyrics, playing the instruments, and bringing in a professional vocalist. When the DJ introduced the surprise, nearly everyone wiped away tears. Without a doubt, it was one of the most meaningful father-daughter dances I’ve had the honor of capturing.
Additionally, the evening offered guests a creative experience. Rachel Miller Art painted live guest portraits throughout the night. Each guest received personalized illustrations to take home—an unforgettable and artistic favor.
As the music picked up, the dance floor filled with laughter and joy. Friends and family danced under the twinkling tent lights, sharing hugs and celebratory toasts.
